The Glory of Creation
In wisdom, God called forth the dust,
From which all creation did arise,
His works, so wondrous and just,
Draw men to sing praises to the skies.
Centuries past, David’s song did swell,
The heavens declare God’s glory bright,
The firmament His works do tell,
A tapestry of purest light.
Who, seeing stars in heaven’s dome,
And planets on their stately course,
Could fail to voice in solemn tone
The worship of their heavenly source?
Astronomers with joy have gazed,
Through telescopes, at night’s display,
In awe, their hearts in rapture raised,
To see the stars on their grand way.
The starry heavens all can see,
A sight for every eye and heart,
So let us join in harmony,
With David’s song, and take our part.
The heavens declare God’s glory grand,
The firmament shows His hand so true,
Let all the children of this land,
Sing praise to Him who made us too.
