Crowning work of God’s creation

Now comes the crowning act divine,
God’s final work, a grand design.
He made the heavens, earth, and sea,
Yet something more was meant to be.

No creature yet could bear His name,
Or worship Him with heart aflame.
So God declared, “Let us create,
In our own image, man’s true state.”

In form like beasts, yet spirit bright,
Reflecting God’s eternal light.
Dominion granted, wisdom rare,
To rule with justice, love, and care.

Man shares with beasts both flesh and bone,
In pain and death, he’s not alone.
Yet in his soul, a higher call,
To rise above, to never fall.

His mind can soar through starry skies,
Or delve where earthly treasure lies.
One moment low with worldly things,
The next, with God, his spirit sings.

Possessor of a soul divine,
Destined not in dust to pine.
At life’s end, his spirit’s flight,
Returns to God, the source of light.

With psalmist’s heart, we humbly raise,
A song of wonder, love, and praise:
“I’m fearfully and wondrous made,
In God’s own image, unafraid.”

Man’s glory is a sacred trust,
Dominion over earth is just.
As stewards of this grand estate,
To use his gifts, not steal it’s fate.

For should he seek his own desire,
Ignoring God’s refining fire,
The Word declares, he’ll face his end,
Apart from God, without a friend.

So let us live with reverent heart,
In God’s grand plan, we play our part.
To glorify our Maker’s name,
In faith and love, our holy aim.
